ALPE SELEZ WITH AUNT RUTH

May 26, 2016 -- A Catholic holiday in Cantons Zug and Solothurn (Corpus Christi), so Urs and I both had the day off. We invited Aunt Ruth for lunch up in the mountains at one of our favourite little mountain restaurants where we have already been a few times, for a yummy meal of grilled pork steaks and Alpler Magronen. (Alp-Style Macaroni and Cheese, this one with a special Schabziger cream sauce).

To get there we have to go up by cable car from the Schächental Valley and then walk 1 km from the cable car station to the restaurant at the back of the valley. Aunt Ruth doesn't walk too fast any more, it took us a 1/2-hour to walk the 1 km. Granted, there were still several large patches of snow, and she is very careful to not slip and fall.

The crocuses are just starting to flower in the meadows up here. The winter was very late this year.
